Gellert Grindelwald killed Albus Dumbledore on a muggle street and rose to power. Nothing is like it should be. It wasn't long before Grindelwald extended his power to the muggle world as well as the magical world. Halfbloods, muggleborns, and even muggles live in fear. Breaking boundaries and rewriting old laws, he controlled everything he could see. Unhappy with just that, he stretched his power, spanning countries. The Class of the Chrysanthemum rose early against the dark dictator, only to be broken into factions when their leader, Cassiopeia Black, met her untimely death at the end of Grindelwald's wand. Still the Class of the Chrysanthemum fought on in factions, not knowing who to trust. It's war, but no one seems to know it. The game is set in 2001 currently. Grindelwald's is coming out publicly, eventually, with his relationship with Vlad Tepelus. The plot and arcs depend and focus on the reactions of the characters over Grindwald's decisions, his new leadership role and loyalty, and the actions he takes as a consequences that effects all. The plots also focus on relationships of current characters that unfold. Once a month, the mods plan an event for the game. Reopened March 5th, 2012! 1:37 am [spiffynerd]	epistolium Taking the helm after the hugely popular Headmistress McGonagall retired, Headmaster Heavensbee had to start off the 2023-2024 school year with a bang. He had to distinguish himself in some way, set the tune for how his administration was going to run things. He spent the summer doing research, thinking and planning. What he came up with is what he has deemed the Penpal Project. It is based upon a muggle tradition of exchanging letters with someone you don't know. In an effort to increase House unity, Headmaster Heavensbee has assigned all the students anonymous penpals in other Houses, with whom they will be required to correspond during the year. Some students are curious, some are irritated, but what's clear is that it's going to make for an interesting year. Epistolium is a next-gen, canon-compliant RPG set in 2023, with an emphasis on building CR (due to a combination of optional blurbs, the penpal project, and required storylines, new characters can enter the game with more than six lines ready to play!). Your characters won't be fighting for their lives in this game; just their social lives. 11:21 pm [chaperoned]	AN AU MARAUDERS ERA RPG Dumbledore never defeated Grindelwald in 1945. Instead, he sat idly by as Grindelwald seized control over the countries surrounding England. Soon, Grindelwald's influence crept into England, causing a split within the nation that would lead to the emergence of two groups: the Knights of Walpurgis, who supported Grindelwald's aims (no relation to a certain Tom Riddle who hasn't been heard from for decades), and the Order of the Phoenix, headed by Dumbledore himself. 6:07 am [past_admin]	HP Post War Game - Past Ever Present PAST EVER PRESENT "Everything is Changing" Premise September, 2000 The war had been won and the Wizarding World had begun to rebuild itself. Kingsley Shacklebolt, as Minister of Magic, has been working hard to bring stability back to the magical community, and life was becoming as good as it had been in recent years. However, an accident in the Department of Mysteries turned everything on its head. The Unspeakables, experimenting with an unknown object, caused a magical shockwave that destroyed all the magical items in nearby rooms, including the Time Turners and the Veil. The world began to shimmer and wave as past and present began to collide, and people from the past began appearing in the present-day. When confronted with their future selves, those from the past were cast back. When the world righted itself, those people from the past were gone, leaving their future selves free to continue on as normal. There was, however, one small glitch. The dead, who had no future self to contend with, didn’t go back. Instead, they lay in a state of unconsciousness in Saint Mungo’s as the Healers and scholars attempted to make sense of the situation. Weeks passed with no answers, and the world began to think their long-dead loved ones would stay in a perpetual state of sleep. Fearing for the safety of the populace should the dead awake, and unbeknownst to the general public, the Ministry cast spells on the sleeping forms, specifically those to have known ties to Voldemort and his Death Eaters, limiting their magic. A month later, the Ministry was confronted with another problem. Slowly, over time, the dead began to wake, perfectly healthy and with their memories intact. Having no other recourse, the Ministry was forced to allow those who awoke to leave Saint Mungo’s, hoping for the best and counting on the limits placed up on their magic to keep them in check. The Order is being reformed as a counter measure about the Ministry's idiocy. Little do the people know that the Minister is under the Imperious Curse, and once the Death Eaters awake, all hell will break loose! Will you be there to help them, or to stop them? 3:06 am [amortentiamods]	Amortentia The Game It's been a year and a half since the fall of Voldemort and the Wizarding World is still rebuilding. The Death Eaters have been tried, Hogwarts has been rebuilt, and everyone is attempting to move on with their lives. However, most of them have forgotten the biggest thing they should have learned during the war; the importance of love. It was, after all, Dumbledore's message that there could always be move love in this world. While working on an experiment to alter the properties of the popular love potion, Amortentia, Unspeakable Hermione Granger makes a mistake that leaves everyone within the Ministry, Diagon Alley, and Hogsmeade on that day fall in love with the person whom they're nearest to. While everyone is stuck with the wrong person, or in some cases, the right ones, The Ministry frantically tries to correct their mistake, but their attempt to bring everyone out of their love-drunk stupor only leads to everyone magically finding their soulmate. Not everyone will be happy about who they're fated to be with, but some of them may just find what they've been looking for. Amortentia is set in the year 2000, when the Wizarding World is still recovering from the events of the war. We're focused on the characters exploring all kinds of relationships: romantic, family, friendship, etc. and character development. Every two to three weeks, the mods will introduce a new plot point for the game, which will keep things in motion for the first few months, with the plan being to let everyone keep things going with character interactions afterwards. Current Events After a botched experiment with altering the properties of Amortentia, almost everyone fell under the potion. Some people spent the time snogging, others got engaged, and some people ended up with people they secretly desired in the first place, opening up new relationships to be formed. There's also a lot of people who aren't happy about the entire thing, not to mention, some truths have come out about others. There's a lot going on and it's going to keep going on. The Players Amortentia is currently seeking dedicated writers who are interested in character development, participating in game-wide plots, and moving the plot forward with character interactions. Coming Soon Kingsley and the Ministry are going to administer a new potion invented by Hermione which will lead people to seek out their soulmates, which can only lead to chaos and hilarity. However, in order to make sure this all kicks some ass, we need to fill some of out most wanted characters, which include: Neville Longbottom, Harry Potter, Seamus Finnigan, and many others. 1:36 am [crescendomods]	Crescendo The Game The year is 1981. Voldemort is still at large. The Order is hunting down Horcruxes. Sirius Black isn't in Azkaban. The Potters aren't dead. And The Longbottom's are nowhere near being admitted to St. Mungo's because of those damn Lestranges. Why not? Because we decided to throw canon out the window and re-write the story for ourselves and it's been one Hell of a story so far and it's only going to get better! Over at Crescendo, we believe in letting you, the writer, determine where the plot goes based on character interaction and plots, so literally anything can happen. We believe in giving you the freedom to let things develop naturally, instead of trying to force your characters into a small box to make things work with what happened in the books. We've been open for nearly six months and we don't plan on going anywhere, so come on over, take a seat, and drive the plot a bit to see where you can take us next. Current Events Voldemort and his Death Eaters are doing their best to stir up terror to get the resistance against them to stop. Katherine Rosier is doing all that she can so Millicent Bagnold will be recalled as Minister, including murdering members of her own family who are sullying the family name, so Voldemort can take over, she can clear Bellatrix's name, and so a Rosier can become Minister. Alice Longbottom accidentally killed Alecto Carrow in battle. Bellatrix Lestrange is running the Ministry, unknown to anyone, because she is the puppet master controlling Minister Bagnold. Voldemort is on to Regulus and has a plan to kill the Potters, steal Neville, and to get his hands on the prophecy. Most of the characters are in hiding and hating it, leading them to come up with creative ways to kill Voldemort, not to mention, the Order knows about the Horcruxes thanks to one Regulus Black, and they've already destroyed one all because the Lovegoods are B.A.M.F.'s and they need to find the rest! The Players We're currently seeking dedicated writers who are interested in character development, participating in game-wide plots, changing canon through their actions and interactions, and truly exploring the 'what-ifs' of the HP-Verse that canon ruined for us. Coming Soon Bellatrix Lestrange is going to screw Voldemort over, clear her own name, and take over the Ministry so she can finally have the 'right' side in charge, without all of Voldemort's little terror games slowing things down. Voldemort is going to try to kill Rodolphus and Bellatrix's child, force Narcissa to take the Dark Mark, and try to get Regulus to turn over his own brother to be killed. Not only will he be pissing off his own followers but the entire Order is ready to kill him, so it's only a matter of time before both sides come together to take him down or for one to finally stand up to him and try to kill his ass. Things are going to be very interesting soon, however, in order for these things to be as kick-ass as we want them to be, we need a few characters. Our most wanted characters are: Severus Snape, Lily & James Potter, Xenophilius Lovegood, Kingsley Shacklebolt, Cassidy Longbottom, Michael Brown, and a whole bunch more! Not to mention, poor Regulus really needs him someone to drag him out of that damn closet he's hiding in.
